StiehlWorks engages in many charitable activities by serving on international, national and local boards and committees for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Behavioral Diabetes Institute, United Through Reading, LifeSharing (organ and tissue donation), the Lymphoma Research Foundation and many others. Shown below are examples of our charitable activities.

Government Relations Support for JDRF

StiehlWorks has been involved with JDRF Government Relations efforts for years. Currently, Lorraine is serving as the National Volunteer Chair for Grassroots Advocacy, a role that earned her the "Volunteer of the Year" distinction.

 

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Gala

Chris and Lorraine were humbled to be named the "Family Honoree" for the JDRF Promise Ball in 2008, the annual gala for the San Diego Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Charity Support - Carlsbad Half Marathon

 

Carlsbad Half Marathon

StiehlWorks participates in many fundraising activities. This picture shows Lorraine running in the Carlsbad Half Marathon (she appears to be leading the pack!). StiehlWorks was among the top five fundraisers for LifeSharing at this event. LifeSharing is the San Diego-based organ donation organization. This is one of dozens of fundraising runs where StiehlWorks has participated.

StiehlWorks chaired this event, among several events we have planned and executed successfully. Approximately $150,000 was raised on behalf of LifeSharing - the organ and tissue donation organization of San Diego. This amount was six times what the organization had originally set as their target. Over 250 people attended, including "Mean Joe" Green, Rolf Benirsche, John Carney, Kellen Winslow, "Deacon" Jones, Bruce Jenner, Willie Buchanon, John Brockington and dozens of other sports celebrities.

 

Lymphoma Research Foundation

StiehlWorks is very supportive of the Lymphoma Research Foundation. StiehlWorks helped this national charity set up six chapters in the Western United States and assisted with major gift fundraising.

 

Community Health Charities of California

StiehlWorks conducted "Voice of the Business/Agency" research for CHCC, asking California businesses and charities what their wants and needs would be to participate with CHCC. The research was used to develop strategies and metrics for measuring success.
